Overview
The Blockcurtain EW 60/90 provides both fire integrity and radiated heat control. Tested to guarantee system integrity up to 1000°C for 120 minutes (E performance) with W performance limiting thermal radiation to below 15 kW/m² on the unexposed side for 60 or 90 minutes. This protects people and assets from dangerous radiated heat during a fire event.
What Does EW Mean?
- E – Integrity: prevents flames and hot gases from passing through to the non-fire side
- W – Radiation control: limits radiated heat to below 15 kW/m² on the unexposed side
Choose EW 60 for 60-minute radiation control, EW 90 for 90-minute protection.
Key Features
- Dual protection: integrity AND radiated heat control
- Higher fabric weight (1,120 g/m²) than E class for radiation blocking
- Keeps thermal radiation below 15 kW/m² — safe for nearby occupants
- Gravity fail-safe deployment — no power required for emergency closure
- Single-module design — no overlaps for a complete seal
- CE & APPLAUD certified to European standards
- Custom sizes and RAL colours available
Applications
Recommended wherever protecting people from radiated heat is critical — large open-plan retail spaces, atriums, shopping centres, airports, and public buildings where occupants may be near the curtain during evacuation.
